Roy Anderson Corp. Awarded New Projects Valued at Approximately $175 Million

GULFPORT, Miss.--()--Tutor Perini Corporation (NYSE: TPC), a leading civil, building and specialty construction company, today announced five new projects collectively valued at approximately $175 million that have recently been awarded to its subsidiary, Roy Anderson Corp. (RAC). Roy Anderson Corp. is one of the leading general contracting firms in the Southeast, providing quality-oriented general contracting and construction management services for more than five decades.

Restore Louisiana Program, Baton Rouge and surrounding area
Owner: State of Louisiana, Dept. of Health
During 2016, Louisiana experienced two 1,000-year floods over a 6-month period that affected some 85% of parishes in the state. These disasters impacted approximately 120,000 households. The State of Louisiana initiated the Restore Louisiana (ReLa) Program to assist Louisiana citizens affected by the floods, and received $1.6 billion in federal Community Development Block Grant disaster recovery funds. The program is dedicated to helping homeowners repair and restore their damaged homes. RAC is working as a Construction Manager for the rebuild of the flood-damaged homes. RAC’s ultimate contract value will depend on the total number of homes repaired.

South Carolina Disaster Recovery Program, Columbia and surrounding area
Owner: State of South Carolina, Dept. of Commerce
This storm recovery program is intended to repair or reconstruct, consistent with South Carolina’s HUD-approved action plan, single-family housing and single-family rental units that were affected by the October 5, 2015 flood and rain event. The program is specifically designed to assist low-income South Carolinians who require assistance in the repair, replacement or reconstruction of their damaged homes. RAC is working as a Construction Manager for the rebuild of the storm-damaged homes. RAC’s ultimate contract value will depend on the total number of homes repaired.

Southern University – Natural Sciences Building, Arts and Humanities & Social Sciences Building, New Orleans, LA
Owner: State of Louisiana / Combined Contract Value: approx. $50 million
RAC was awarded a contract to build a new four-story classroom and teaching laboratory building, which will contain administrative offices, a lecture hall, support spaces, classrooms, computer labs and teaching laboratories for the Math, Physics, Nursing, Health Information Management, Forensic Sciences, Biology and Chemistry departments. RAC was also awarded a contract for the construction of a state-of-the-art theater, African American Art Museum and classroom building. This three-story building will include a 1,000-seat theater, classrooms, laboratories, administrative areas, museum exhibit space, gallery space, archives and exterior plazas. Construction work on the buildings began earlier this year. Substantial completion of the Natural Sciences Building is expected in the summer of 2018 with completion of the Arts and Humanities & Social Sciences Building scheduled for the fall of 2018. The contract value is included in the Company’s second quarter 2017 backlog.

Island View Beach Casino Expansion, Gulfport, MS
Owner: Island View Casino Resort / Contract Value: approx. $32 million
RAC was awarded a contract to expand the Island View Beach Casino. The expansion will feature a 65,000 square-foot smoke-free gaming floor and will also include a new hotel check-in lobby and waiting area, a show bar centrally located on the casino floor, a diner concept eatery and a coffee shop. The beach-side casino will have a clear view of the Gulf of Mexico and cityscape incorporating a floor-to-ceiling glass curtain wall system at the perimeter of the casino level to utilize natural light. Construction began in the second quarter of 2017 and substantial completion is expected in the summer of 2018. The contract value is included in the Company’s second quarter 2017 backlog.

Louisiana Children’s Museum in City Park, New Orleans, LA
Owner: Louisiana Children’s Museum / Contract Value: approx. $28 million
RAC was awarded a contract to build the Louisiana Children’s Museum in City Park. This new museum will feature both indoor and outdoor environmental facilities, including bridges, decking, decks, sensory and edible gardens, a floating classroom and a newly restored wetland area. The building, which will be LEED-certified, will sit on less than one acre of the 8.5-acre plot and will overlook a lagoon. Other facilities on the new museum campus will include a literacy center, five indoor interactive exhibit galleries, a cafe and a parent-teacher resource center. The museum hopes to attract up to 225,000 visitors per year. Construction is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2017 with substantial completion expected in the fourth quarter of 2018. The contract value will be included as part of the Company’s reported third quarter 2017 backlog.
