MIDDLETOWN, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Embrace Home Loans, a prominent leader in the mortgage industry, announced today that branch manager Marcos Sanchez has been named one of the top 250 Latino mortgage originators in the U.S. by the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) for the second consecutive year.
The third annual Top 250 Latino Mortgage Originator Report recognizes the leading Latino mortgage originators in the U.S. as ranked by the number of mortgages they closed the previous calendar year. More than 600 mortgage professionals were considered. The group of top producers, including Sanchez, represents a total of 33,345 closed mortgages, $8.19 billion in mortgage sales volume and 52 different companies. Sanchez was also named, for the second consecutive year, one of the top 100 Latino mortgage originators from non-depository lenders, a new recognition added to the report last year.
While Latinos are projected to represent more than 50 percent of U.S. homeownership gains over the next 15 years, only four percent of mortgage industry professionals identify as Latino, according to the 2016 State of Hispanic Homeownership Report. With more than 88 percent of honorees, including Sanchez, identifying as bilingual, the Top 250 report recognizes individuals whose cultural skill sets provide an invaluable resource to the largest and fastest growing segment of new homebuyers nationwide. The success of the Top 250 Latino Mortgage Originators is a demonstration of the growing influence Latinos demonstrate in the industry both as a profession as well as in the volume of home buyers driving the housing economy.
“It’s an honor to make this list and to be recognized alongside other inspiring, hard-working individuals in the industry,” said Sanchez. “I would not be able to do this on my own, and ultimately, I owe a great deal of my success to the hard work and talent of everyone at Embrace. Embrace operates as a unified team that cares not only about the communities it serves, but also creating an engaging and motivating workplace. Combining my knowledge of mortgage banking with the strength of Embrace Home Loans behind me, I am confident I will continue to thrive and grow as a professional in this market.”
Sanchez joined Embrace Home Loans in 2012 with more than 25 years of experience in the mortgage banking industry. During his tenure at Embrace, he has been a perennial Presidents Club recipient averaging more than 15 million per year in sales volume. Prior to joining Embrace, Sanchez was a branch manager for Corridor Mortgage Group. He also worked for Access National Mortgage as an area manager, RBC Mortgage as a partner in the Mid Atlantic Division, and Harbor Financial Mortgage Corporation as the secondary marketing manager.
“Marcos is so deserving of this recognition. Having the opportunity to witness first-hand his passion, his ability to connect with his customers while delivering a professional, and at the same time, personal, experience is truly astounding,” said Jeff McGuiness, Chief Sales Officer, Embrace Home Loans. “He strives to consistently provide exceptional service, going far beyond what other lenders offer. His team members, plus the borrowers and realtors he works with, all benefit from his naturally high degree of service.”
