NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--With a host of new benefits and a sleek, metal card, Citi is announcing enhanced benefits to Prestige, its premium travel rewards credit card.
Starting on July 23, 2017, the Citi Prestige Card will offer cardmembers the unlimited ability to book a complimentary night at any hotel for stays of four nights or more – a unique offering in the premium card category – through thankyou.com (in addition to the Citi Prestige Concierge) and have the savings applied instantly versus a statement credit. Cardmembers will also have the option to redeem ThankYou Points for all or part of their stay.
Cardmembers will also receive greater value for cash reward redemptions with ThankYou Points. For example, 50,000 ThankYou Points will be redeemable for $500.
In addition, new Citi Prestige cardmembers will earn 75,000 ThankYou Points after spending $7,500 in purchases within the first three months of account opening. This is equivalent to more than $935 when redeemed for air travel through the Citi ThankYou Travel Center.
“Prestige is much more than a card – it is an invitation to live a fuller life and get more of the things that matter,” said Chris Fred, Head of Proprietary Products, Citi Cards. “Since we introduced Prestige in 2010, it has resonated with consumers as a unique high-end card with top-tier benefits for an adventurous lifestyle. We continue to see strong interest and engagement in this card, especially among millennials who comprise close to half of the portfolio, so the time is right to augment the Prestige card for a new generation of affluent customers.”
And these new benefits come at a time when rewards cards continue to grow in popularity. In fact, new research by Citi among Americans with a household income of $150,000 or more indicates that 84 percent of consumers (91 percent for millennials) with a rewards credit card use the rewards points to cover all or part of their personal travel and 72 percent (88 percent for millennials) of consumers say they would likely book more travel throughout the year if their credit card offered a complimentary fourth night stay at any hotel. When searching for future credit cards, 69 percent of respondents agree that premium travel rewards will be a top priority.
Additional compelling benefits that Citi Prestige cardmembers can take advantage of no matter where their travels take them include:
- Complimentary 4th night stay at any hotel after a minimum four–consecutive night booking (based on your average nightly rate, exclusive of taxes and fees)
- Annual $250 Air Travel Credit
- $100 Statement Credit for your Global Entry or TSA Preè application fee
- Complimentary, unlimited access to over 1,000 Priority Pass™ Select Lounges worldwide for you, your authorized users, immediate family or up to two guests traveling with you
- 3x Points on Air Travel and Hotels, 2x Points on Dining and Entertainment, 1 ThankYou Point per $1 spent on all other purchases
- No foreign transaction fees on purchases
- 24/7 Access to Citi Prestige Concierge
- Travel and Emergency Assistance, Trip Cancellation and Interruption Protection, and Trip Delay Protection
- Access to presale tickets and VIP experiences for thousands of events each year through Citi Private Pass
The annual fee for the Prestige Card will remain unchanged at $450 as will the $50 annual fee for each authorized user.
