BOISE, Idaho--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Local 6-year-old Reagan Cornwall, who received a grant from the UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation to help fund hearing aids for her progressive hearing loss, was named “Pro Cyclist for the Day” at this year’s Downtown Boise Criterium.
UnitedHealthcare’s Pro Cycling Team announced Reagan as the honoree during a pre-race celebration last night. As “Pro Cyclist for the Day,” she was awarded pro cycling gear, including a new bike, helmet and an autographed pro cycling team jersey. She also participated in the pre-race athlete call-ups and rode in the official pace car at the beginning of the race, followed by an on-stage interview with the race announcer.
The surprise announcement was made just before the race began at a pre-race celebration at 10 Barrel Brewery. The recipient, along with her parents and siblings, are active cyclists and participated in the Downtown Boise Criterium.
