CHELMSFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Axis Communications, the market leader in network video, announces Forensic WDR, an enhanced Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) method that focuses on achieving high forensic value, in new cameras. WDR is a term that is commonly used for the art of balancing both very dark and very bright areas in a scene. It is also known as HDR (High Dynamic Range). In the surveillance industry, the aim is to capture forensic details at all times.

The new AXIS P32 models offer cost-efficient cameras that are easy to install. These fixed domes deliver outstanding video performance with multi-megapixel resolution in full frame rate up to 4K, and feature Forensic WDR, OptimizedIR and Zipstream. The cameras are available through Axis’ standard distribution channels at a suggested retail price ranging between $779 and $1099 depending on the model.
The new AXIS Q35 cameras offer unparalleled video surveillance with a comprehensive feature set, including power redundancy. Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) and IK10+ rating makes them ideal for harsh environments. They address the need for monitoring in multi-megapixel detail at full frame rate with great video quality, and include Forensic WDR, Lightfinder, OptimizedIR and Zipstream. AXIS Q3517-LV and AXIS Q3517-LVE will be available through Axis’ standard distribution channels in Q3 2017 at a suggested retail price of $1099 and $1249 respectively.
