Leading Emerging Technologies Lawyer Anne Swanson Joins Wilkinson Barker Knauer

WASHINGTON--()--Wilkinson Barker Knauer, LLP is pleased to announce that Anne Swanson is joining the firm as partner. Ms. Swanson brings decades of administrative law experience and a deep expertise in unmanned aerial vehicle (“UAV”) technology and regulatory polices to the firm.

Ms. Swanson has practiced in the area of communications and tech law for over thirty years. Increasingly, her focus has been on spectrum issues and emerging technologies such as drones and smart transportation. She has advocated before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the National Telecommunications Information Administration (NTIA), and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Before entering private practice, Ms. Swanson clerked for the Honorable Charles B. Renfrew in the Northern District of California and the Honorable Richard D. Cudahy of the Seventh Circuit. Ms. Swanson has also served in the White House as editor of the President’s daily news summary and as a National Security Council staff intern.

Ms. Swanson is president of the DC Capital Chapter of the Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International and serves as vice chair of AUVSI’s national Presidents’ Council. She is a former Federal Communications Bar Association President and former member on the Governing Committee of the American Bar Association’s Forum on Communications. Ms. Swanson is a graduate of Yale Law School and West Virginia University. She received her LLM from the Georgetown University Law Center and has an MPA from Princeton University.
