BOSTON--()--Columbia Threadneedle Investments is proud to announce its title sponsorship of the Columbia Threadneedle Investments Boston Triathlon. This is the second year the Boston-based asset management firm has been a partner of this community event, which is expected to attract more than 1,500 participants.

The Columbia Threadneedle Investments Boston Triathlon combines a swim at Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation’s (DCR) Carson Beach, a bike ride on DCR William Day Boulevard, and a run along the South Boston waterfront. Both Olympic and sprint distance events will be held, as well as a children’s race, the Kids’ Splash-and-Dash. The event debuted in 2009 and additional information is available at BostonTri.com.

“We are pleased to partner with the City of Boston and the Boston Triathlon and to make this investment in the greater Boston community. Triathletes from Boston, New England and beyond demonstrate consistency, determination and fortitude in achieving their long-term goals,” said Ted Truscott, CEO of Columbia Threadneedle Investments. “We find that these values mirror those that drive us as we work to help our individual and institutional clients achieve their investment goals.”

Columbia Threadneedle is working closely with the event’s charity partner, Boston Medical Center, the largest safety-net hospital and busiest provider of trauma and emergency services in New England. Charitable money raised through the event will go towards BMC’s adolescent, young adult and adult addiction programs that fight daily against the opioid epidemic plaguing our community.
