ATLANTA--()--Atlanta’s skyline shone a little brighter for early morning commuters today as Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) lit their iconic three-pointed star and script (“Mercedes-Benz Stadium”) for the first time.

MBUSA announced its partnership with AMB Sports & Entertainment (AMBSE) in August 2015, within a month of moving its headquarters from New Jersey to Atlanta. The agreement, which continues through 2042, will see the Mercedes-Benz brand featured prominently both inside and outside the iconic Stadium.

The Mercedes-Benz star and script adorn four areas on the Stadium’s exterior, with measurements on the stars measuring 66’ in diameter and the “M” on the Mercedes-Benz Stadium script measuring more than 12’ in height.

“We wanted to make a bold statement, that we intended to be a visible and valuable member of the Atlanta community,” said Drew Slaven, vice president of marketing at MBUSA. “As for the visible part, I think we checked that box today. As to valuable, I hope our commitment to the Westside community is evident in the work we’ve been doing to educate and empower the next generation.”

MBUSA brought its national partner, Laureus Sport for Good, to Atlanta last year to provide and facilitate after-school sports programming as a healthy alternative for area youth. Augmenting a $3 million investment in the Westside community, the company is also working with Hollis Innovation Academy, Junior Achievement, Trees Atlanta and Families First on educational initiatives in the community.
