Nature Nate's Mother's Day Donation

MCKINNEY, Texas--()--Nature Nate’s is committed to the betterment of families and communities across the U.S., and this year, in order to honor Mother’s Day and women everywhere, announced a $50,000 donation to ten shelters that serve, protect and work to prevent abuse and neglect of women and children.

As part of their ongoing Honey Gives Hope campaign, Nature Nate’s has dedicated financial support to shelters in ten US cities, including Austin, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix and Tampa.

“Each of these ten women’s shelters is unique in their approach, but dedicated in their mission to provide safety, shelter and support for women and children who have experienced domestic violence. Providing resources to continue their mission seemed a fitting way to honor women this Mother’s Day,” said Nathan Sheets, CEO and Founder of Nature Nate’s. “Through Honey Gives Hope, Nature Nate’s works every day towards our mission to improve communities here in Texas and around the U.S. I hope it spurs other contributions this Mother’s Day.”

According to the National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey: 2010 Summary Report, more than one-third of women in the United States have experienced physical or sexual abuse by an intimate partner at some point in their lives.

The shelters that will receive the donations work to serve victims of domestic violence and their children, where they create a just and safe community, and provide shelter, counselling and advocacy to those who are looking to rebuild their lives and move forward. The donations will be allocated to improving these offerings and services, and ultimately to the betterment of lives of women across America, through the following shelters:

  • The SAFE Alliance – Austin, TX
  • Rosie’s Place – Boston, MA
  • Sarah’s Circle – Chicago, IL
  • Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support – Dallas, TX
  • SafeHouse Denver, Inc. – Denver, CO
  • Houston Area Womens Center – Houston, TX
  • Good Shepherd Center for Homeless Women & Children – Los Angeles, CA
  • Safe Horizon – New York, NY
  • Phoenix Gospel Mission DBA, Phoenix Rescue Mission – Phoenix, AZ
  • The Spring of Tampa Bay – Tampa Bay, FL

“Honey Gives Hope is the heart of Nature Nate’s and allows us to put a priority on taking care of families and helping those in need, each and every day. We let the bees take care of making the honey. We take care of the community,” continued Sheets.
