DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Accenture (NYSE:ACN) has appointed Brian Irwin to lead its Industrial Group in North America, effective immediately. He will be responsible for the company’s automotive, construction, freight and logistics, industrial equipment and public transport industry segments. In this role, he will help the company’s clients exploit the advantages that are being created by Industry X.0 and the digital disruption that is driving innovation, new products, services and business models.
Irwin joins Accenture from A. T. Kearney, where he led the automotive and industrial practice for the Americas, and previously co-led A.T. Kearney’s Americas business.
“We welcome Brian, who joins us as part of our focus on hiring and nurturing the very best talent to help our industrial clients compete in today’s digital world,” said Jeffrey Russell, senior managing director and lead for Accenture’s North America Products Group. “A recognized thought leader in this industry group, Brian has worked with industrial clients around the world to help capture competitive advantage, create sustainable growth and improve profitability through transformational initiatives.”
Irwin said, “I am joining Accenture at a key time for these industries, as they try to extract value from Industry 4.0 today and Industry X.0 tomorrow. Accenture research shows that many industrial companies are not yet investing to harness digital technologies and could lose market share if they fail to adopt these technologies, As a result, companies want to know how to generate a return on investment as they seek to harness the connectivity of the Industrial IoT and change what they deliver to their clients and how they deliver it.”
Irwin has more than 20 years of consulting experience working for industrial organizations in areas such as product development, operations, supply chain, logistics and disruptive technologies. Prior to consulting, he worked for General Motors. He lives in Dallas, and is on the board of the C5 Youth Foundation of Texas, which serves to guide high-risk youth to pursue personal success, and prepare them for leadership roles in college, work and their communities.
