CYPRESS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) received the 2017 WOMMY bronze award in the Introduction Award category for their “Kids Talk Safety” marketing campaign where kids used their imaginations to describe some of the more complex safety features in the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander into simple, relatable terms. Word of Mouth Marketing Association (WOMMA) announced the category award winners at their 12th annual WOMMY Awards program during The WOMMA Summit at The TimesCenter in New York last night.
The WOMMY Awards celebrate the brands and agencies behind the year's most remarkable word of mouth marketing and social media campaigns. The Introduction Award specifically identifies the best word of mouth communications program to introduce a new product or service.
“It is an honor to have our efforts with the 'Kids Talk Safety' campaign recognized by WOMMA,” said Francine Harsini, senior director, marketing at Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. “The winning campaign was designed to showcase Mitsubishi Motors as a leader in safety and technology and we are thrilled with the tremendous response it has received and its continued success.”
The “Kids Talk Safety” campaign also accepted the fifth annual Driving Engagement Award for the most buzz-worthy social media campaign of 2016 from the Chicago Auto Show and WOMMA in February. The campaign started as a series of videos that targeted in-market buyers and young families looking for a safe vehicle with integrated technology. It reached over half a million people organically and garnered an engagement rate three times higher than any previous campaign. Due to its success, Mitsubishi turned the social media content into a national ad campaign.
The 2017 Outlander continues to remain a leader in reliability and a top seller for the brand. For more information on Mitsubishi Motors and the Outlander visit media.mitsubishicars.com.
