TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Softchoice, a leading North American IT solutions and managed services provider, is pleased to announce it shares the number one spot on Computer Dealer News’ Top 100 Solution Providers list for 2016. This is the eighth time Softchoice has earned a number one spot on CDN’s annual ranking of IT solution providers in Canada.
“We are very proud to receive this award, which is a testament to the customer passion and dedication of the whole Softchoice team,” said John Husband, Vice President of Sales, Canada, who accepted the award on behalf of Softchoice. “Every year, we work hard to expand our offerings to ensure we continue to stay ahead of emerging IT trends and our customers’ more complex needs. This award serves as recognition of that customer focus and our growing ability to solve any business challenges that come their way.”
David MacDonald, Softchoice’s former President and CEO, was also recognized at the event with a CDN Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions over 16 years in the IT channel with Softchoice, and his years of leadership on the Information Technology Association of Canada executive committee. Mr. MacDonald joined Softchoice in 2001 and went on to grow the company from a software direct marketer to one of North America’s largest IT solutions and managed services providers. Under his leadership, Softchoice grew from 250 employees to over 1,600 today, and increased annual revenues from $250 million to over $1 billion (USD). However, his true legacy remains his passion for employees’ personal and professional development, which contributed Softchoice being recognized annually by the Great Place to Work Institute and Glassdoor as a Best Workplace in Canada.
“It’s an unexpected, but great honor to receive this award tonight,” Mr. MacDonald said. “Leading this company has been my professional life’s work, and I could not be more proud of how far we’ve come over the years, and the impact we’ve made working hand-in-hand with our customers and vendor partners to create better communities through technology.”
Mr. MacDonald retired and stepped down as Softchoice’s President and CEO in February 2017. He continues to serve on the Softchoice Board of Directors.
