HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Athletic TIPS™ (Toward Injury Prevention in Sports), a national, not-for-profit organization that drives expanded awareness and education around the role of multi-disciplinary care in the recognition, management and prevention of sports-related injuries, including concussions – has been added to the FitCon agenda, the premiere sports and fitness convention in the country, April 21-22, Salt Lake City, UT. Athletic TIPS™ is proud to announce Performance Health as the TIPS sponsor for this event.
Leading a four-hour continuing education (CE) course on musculoskeletal and concussions, is Sean Drake, DC, Director of the Sports Performance Institute. Dr. Drake will present valuable information to help doctors accumulate credit towards their TIPS Certification and empower them to enter into their communities where they can educate parents, coaches, athletic trainers, health care professionals and amateur athletes about the four TIPS pillars:
- Preventing Dehydration and Heat-Related Conditions
- Concussion Recognition and Prevention
- Nutrition in Sports Management
- Recognizing, Managing and Preventing Musculoskeletal Injuries
“The Athletic TIPS™ education received at FitCon will broaden the doctors outreach to the community,” says Drake. “Through these educational sessions, doctors can stress the prevention of athletic injuries and the importance of prevention to their patients. Because of my experience with having an athletic injury and overcoming it through chiropractic care, I’m passionate about discussing topics like this.”
FitCon draws over 20,000 attendees, 35 competitions and 300 exhibitor booths providing speakers with content and tools to be used to increase the skill sets of the medical professional. During the two-day event, chiropractors and other health care providers can receive extensive training and benefits including 12-hours of CE credits, four-hours towards TIPS™ certification, application hours towards your CCSP and networking with influential fitness enthusiasts and professionals.
