ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--PureRED | Ferrara announces the appointment of George Russell, an accomplished consumer packaged goods and advertising veteran, to the position of Chief Executive Officer. Russell joins PureRED | Ferrara at a pivotal time of aggressive growth as the leader in transformational digital strategy for retailers and consumer packaged goods companies.
Russell joins a long-standing management team which is focused on the acceleration and delivery of cross-channel marketing solutions. “Because of his extensive business management expertise and innate understanding of consumer packaged goods and retail, George is the perfect person to elevate the company to new heights,” says Ned Truslow, Managing Director of RFE Investment Partners, an investor in PureRED | Ferrara.
Russell’s impressive career highlights include The Gillette Company where he created significant growth in share and increased profits for the North American razor business. George went on to head up the turn-around of Schick & Wilkinson Sword, as Vice-President of Global Business Management. On the retail side, George served as the Chief Operating Officer for Duane Reade Drugstores.
Russell began his career at Young & Rubicam working on Johnson & Johnson and Kraft / General Foods accounts. Russell’s extensive business growth experience has paid off for a number of private equity firms where he has helped build numerous consumer, retail and technology enabled businesses.
Russell has served in board leadership roles in the healthcare, technology and consumer product sectors for companies and organizations, including National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) and the American Marketing Association (AMA). He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Western New England College and a Masters of Business Administration from St. John’s University.
