FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CommCreative, a leading unified marketing agency, today announced Susan Bazett as the Factory Mark Gallery’s newest featured artist. Bazett is an abstract contemporary artist and will showcase more than 50 pieces of art during this exhibition. The exhibit highlights the Newton, Mass.-based artist’s original oil paintings, ink artwork on vellum paper, pottery, and wood block art prints. Factory Mark Gallery, located at CommCreative’s headquarters, demonstrates the agency’s commitment to the arts community and was created so emerging and re-emerging artists could showcase their passion and receive 100 percent of their sales.
Bazett will donate all proceeds made during the show directly to Tusk, an organization that provides protection for more than 40 threatened wildlife species and helps alleviate poverty in rural African communities through sustainable development and education. Bazett has been an advocate of this program since she traveled to Africa and witnessed the culture, people, and wildlife that is native to the continent.
“Susan’s portfolio is a welcome addition to the revolving artwork and permanent installations displayed throughout our space,” said Lisa McCarthy, agency principal at CommCreative. “Her artwork will be the first thing visitors see when they walk into our space and will act as everyday inspiration for our creative team. The fact that Susan has chosen to donate her proceeds to Tusk is commendable and something our agency of animal lovers is thrilled to support.”
Bazett’s work depicts the contradictions and conflicts of everyday life. Her artwork portrays landscapes over time as seen through the details that are layered, hidden, and represented throughout her paintings. Bazett’s pieces symbolize the organic, geologic, and construction of history as seen through her own experiences.
“To be featured at the Factory Mark Gallery is an enormous honor and the culmination of painting and making art for the last 30 years,” said Bazett. “Having the opportunity to showcase my work in such a creative space and being able to donate all of the proceeds to an organization I am so passionate about is a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
Bazett is currently enrolled at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts and has previously exhibited her work at Harvard University, Silver Lake Gallery, Bow Street Gallery, New Art Center, Decordova School, and Laney College.
