Sprint’s First HPUE-capable Smartphone, LG G6, Available April 7 Bringing Better Network Coverage and Faster Data Speeds

Be among the first to own the new LG G6 and get a Google Home on LG – only Sprint customers also get a FREE 49-inch LG HDTV

OVERLAND PARK, Kan.--()--Presales for LG G6TM, the first device in the Sprint (NYSE: S) portfolio to be enabled with HPUE technology, begins on Friday, March 17 at www.sprint.com/lgg6. LG G6 will be available in all Sprint retail channels on April 7, including www.sprint.com and 1-800-Sprint1, at $29.50 per month with 24 monthly installments.1

LG G6 is Sprint’s first HPUE-enabled (High Performance User Equipment) smartphone. HPUE makes the Sprint network experience even better with increased coverage, more capacity and faster speeds on capable devices. Customers using an HPUE-enabled smartphone may have a better overall experience with streaming videos, mobile gaming and other online apps and services. HPUE can extend Sprint’s 2.5GHz coverage by up to 30 percent to nearly match its midband 1.9GHz spectrum performance, including indoors where the majority of wireless traffic is generated.

“The debut of LG G6 is an important step forward in building the global HPUE ecosystem with progress being made in record time after the standardization of the technology in December,” said John Saw, Sprint CTO. “With HPUE, Sprint customers using LG G6 can expect even better coverage and faster data speeds, particularly when they are inside their homes, offices or anywhere in our nationwide 2.5GHz coverage area. We are excited to start bringing this next generation of smartphones to our customers and it all kicks off with the G6.”

With an average of 204MHz of spectrum and more than 160MHz of 2.5GHz spectrum in the top 100 U.S. markets, Sprint has more spectrum than any other carrier across the nation, allowing Sprint to keep adding the capacity and speed needed to serve customers’ increasing demand for unlimited data.

Feature-rich without compromise
News of LG G6, the updated LG flagship smartphone, was one of the hottest announcements to come out of the recent Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The innovative LG G6 has an expansive full screen in a slimmer package. It’s easier to hold, carry and use than wider devices – that means no more dropping, no more straining, and no need to hold it with both hands.

This smartphone refines the body design of its predecessor and expands the screen out to a 5.7-inch display with an 80% screen to body ratio, providing you a big screen that actually fits in your hand. It boasts striking visuals and impressive tech specs, including a stunning screen with 18:9 aspect ratio, QHD+ resolution, and Dolby Vision™, allowing superior picture quality for a more authentic cinematic viewing experience. LG G6 is sealed against dust and can be safely immersed in up to 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes (IP68 rating).

Sprint will offer it in two color options – Ice Platinum and Black. For more information, visit sprint.com/lgg6.
