SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IGEL, a world leader in endpoint management software for the secure enterprise, today announced its strongest software sales on record. Underscoring decades of software innovation, IGEL today also unveiled a new software-focused brand message and website to reflect its bolstered focus on software innovation.
For the year ending December 31, 2016, IGEL’s global dedicated software sales were up 19%, including a 95% increase in the U.S. market, marking the best software sales on record for the company. Projections for IGEL software sales for 2017 are expected to meet a 46% growth rate in 2017. This compares to a projected hardware growth rate of 30% for 2017. IGEL software, including the IGEL Universal Management Suite™ and IGEL OS™, is delivered via both thin client hardware and zero client technology.
“IGEL originated as a software company 28 years ago with a vision for the simplified management of enterprise desktops,” said Heiko Gloge, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, IGEL. “Over the years, we’ve become a world leader in endpoint management by delivering our software via a combination of thin and zero clients and all-in-one thin client solutions. But at our core, it’s our innovative software that has always driven our success which is proven in our significant 2016 software revenue growth. Today, we are formally embracing this software heritage with a new brand and message that centralizes around our revolutionary software approach.”
IGEL first released IGEL OS, a Linux derivative, in 2001, followed by the IGEL Remote Management Software in 2003 and IGEL Universal Desktop software in 2006. Delivered over the years via thin client solutions, IGEL software has been the company’s foundation of success. Revolutionary in its simplicity and purpose-built for the enterprise, IGEL software solutions are more intuitive, secure and scalable than any other solution on the market.
To underscore its software focus, IGEL has released a new brand message and website. The new website showcases how IGEL enables enterprises to convert any x86 device and control every PC from one, easy-to-manage, platform. It also offers, for the first time, downloadable software licenses for the following IGEL products:
- IGEL Universal Desktop Converter™ (UDC) - IGEL UDC provides businesses of all sizes with a lower cost alternative to traditional desktop hardware, helping them to dramatically reduce their desktop replacement costs, eliminate the need to invest in new hardware and support their virtualized infrastructures.
- IGEL Universal Management Suite (UMS) - IGEL UMS is a single endpoint management solution that gives IT automated backend control while delivering a familiar, trouble-free environment for users. Hardware and operating system agnostic, IGEL UMS makes it possible to manage all endpoints from one intuitive solution.
“No matter where customers are on their path to desktop virtualization, IGEL has the software solution that will improve the efficiency, agility and security of their environment,” said Jed Ayres, President and CEO, IGEL North America. “Our new website, including downloadable software trials, has been designed to showcase how IGEL has revolutionized the endpoint with benefits for all personas, including CxOs, IT professionals, security professionals and end users. Simple, smart and secure, IGEL software is changing the face of endpoint management.”
