LAS VEGAS--()--Suitable Technologies, Inc., creator of Beam and BeamProTM remote presence systems popular with many Fortune 500 companies, announced an upgraded Beam -- a more powerful version of the entry-level Beam device. With two dual-band Wi-Fi radios, up to 8 hours of battery life, enhanced speed and additional administrative controls, it’s perfect for bringing remote teams together. This new Beam will serve as a mid-level product offering for enterprise customers.

“Working remotely is no longer a trend; it’s a fact. Being together is part of what makes us human and keeps our relationships strong. When we can’t be physically present, how do we engage?” said Scott Hassan, CEO, Suitable Technologies. “With many of the features of our high-end BeamPro device, the new Beam removes barriers to communication at a price point that makes it accessible to small and medium businesses.”

A recent study shows that an overwhelming 93 percent of employees feel that they are more productive working remotely. However, there is one common drawback -- despite the continued rise in email, chat and videoconferencing, remote team members often feel isolated; things get lost in translation, and calling multiple meetings for daily work is disruptive. Beam lets team members actually “be present” across multiple offices and locations -- they can stay connected and feel more engaged by jumping in and out of conversations in a fluid way. The remote user (“Pilot”) has full independence and autonomy, and controls when they enter a conversation, who they look at, and how they move around.

“This is the future of the connected workforce. Where you live and where you work really doesn't matter,” said Peter Diamandis, Founder, and Chairman, XPRIZE Foundation. “Beam’s form factor, ease of use and low latency means you actually feel like you’re talking to a person.”

Beam also provides access to an aging population who may no longer be able to use technology to communicate. “Beam helps me keep in touch with my parents because they do not have to do anything on their end of the communication line. With Beam I am in total control of everything - for them, they do not have to hold a phone or laptop,” said Bo Preising, CPO, Suitable Technologies, Inc.

Beam is unobtrusive and easy to use, and goes beyond video chatting technology, enabling users to travel instantly to remote locations with the freedom of mobility over a Wi-Fi or 4G LTE connection. It stands a bit over 4’5”; it is a purpose-built device, with a 10” video screen, speaker, and audio array with 4 microphones to ensure that communication is crisp and clear. The field of view is impressive and two 480p HDR cameras deliver realistic 30-frames-per-second video. The unit’s 4-wheel operation ensures stability and is ADA compliant, so ramps, thresholds and cords won’t trip it up. With up to 8 hours of battery life, the new Beam will get you through an entire workday. The advanced admin tool allows you to add multiple users to insure remote collaboration anywhere, Beam deployment in different departments and enhanced scheduling. Warranty and support is provided by Suitable Technologies with a subscription package.

The new Beam will retail for $3,995 and requires a $395 annual subscription fee that covers access to Beam infrastructure, service and support, and discounts off of other Beam services. It will be available for purchase immediately. Current Beam customers can upgrade their existing units to include all new capabilities. For more information, contact sales@suitabletech.com.
