LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AWS RE:INVENT -- ProtectWise, provider of the enterprise security platform that delivers pervasive visibility, deep analytics, and an advanced user experience on demand, today announced that the company has achieved Advanced Tier Partner status in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner Network (APN), and unveiled support for its ProtectWise Sensor on AWS. Security teams can easily download this software sensor and use it to capture full packets from their cloud networks into the ProtectWise Grid. ProtectWise is committed to protecting customers’ workloads in the cloud, which it uses as a strategic architecture for the ProtectWise Grid platform.
A new utility model for enterprise security, the ProtectWise Grid delivers pervasive visibility, automated threat detection and deep unlimited forensic exploration, providing businesses with an all-encompassing approach to security, whether their systems run in the cloud, on-premises, or in hybrid environments. Analysts now have a new way to intuitively interact with huge volumes of security data, thus enabling enterprises to revolutionize the way they deal with complex threats that develop over time.
“The ProtectWise Grid provides us with visibility into the sophisticated attacks in our enterprise network, however long ago they occurred,” said Richard Rushing, CISO, Motorola Mobility. “By extending its threat detection to secure the Cloud, ProtectWise is making it easier for us to scale our business into the cloud without us having to sacrifice on visibility or protection.”
Having developed this innovative new method for complex threat detection on AWS, Co-founder and CTO, Gene Stevens, and Director of DevOps, Robert Tarrall, have been invited to speak about “The Future of Cloud: Building with Stateless Infrastructure on Amazon EC2” at AWS re:Invent 2016 at 4 p.m. on Thursday, December 1.
“As the cloud continues to revolutionize the security industry, it is critical for organizations to understand how to go about building cloud-first applications,” said Gene Stevens, Co-founder and CTO, ProtectWise. “At ProtectWise, we believe security should be viewed as a utility – effortless and on-demand, just as the lights in your home turn on when you flip a switch. Only a cloud-based infrastructure can enable this transition. It’s an honor for ProtectWise to be invited to present at re:Invent, and we are looking forward to engaging with attendees on this topic and discussing what this means for the future of security and massive scale computing across many industries.”
During the session, attendees will learn how ProtectWise works with AWS to enable pervasive visibility, real-time and retrospective detection of complex threats, and unlimited full packet capture and storage and forensics. The session will show how ProtectWise can right-size Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) instances to optimize performance, ingesting and analyzing petabytes of network packet capture via a stateless infrastructure approach, at a fraction of the cost. Stevens and Tarrall will share cost optimization and scaling tips for EC2 users, and explain the benefits of immutable infrastructure as an approach for high-scale environments, including simplified operations and continuous deployments. Attendees will learn best practices on how to build cloud-ready applications and see real-world examples of how ProtectWise applied their methodology to modern workloads, such as Apache Cassandra.
