ATLANTA & CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Axiom, a recognized leader in the business of law and leading provider of technology-enabled legal and contracting services, today announced a significant expansion of its presence in the greater Southeast region. After years of servicing North Carolina-based companies from its regional headquarters in Atlanta, Axiom will officially launch in the Charlotte market in January of 2017.
“Charlotte is a growing hub of commercial activity,” said Mark Paschal, who will relocate from Atlanta to head the Charlotte operations. “As our portfolio of North Carolina-based clients increased and our pipeline of potential clients increased further, expansion became a natural extension of that growth. Charlotte will not only provide us with a physical footprint in a commercially critical region, it will allow us to fuel further growth across the greater Southeast.”
Axiom’s modern approach to the delivery of legal services has piqued client demand across the Southeast and created a new standard in the business of law. That approach helps clients fundamentally reengineer their legal department by transitioning from a traditional fixed-team structure to an on-demand, elastic resourcing model.
“Having been an early North Carolina-based client, in my former role as General Counsel of Ingersoll Rand, I was witness to Axiom’s uniquely different approach to the business of law,” said Bobby Katz, current EVP and General Counsel of Jabil Circuit, based in St. Petersburg, Florida. “Axiom has pioneered a model, which offers GCs a legitimate alternative to the traditional law firm and a more flexible, elastic, and commercially-minded legal partner focused on predictability, efficiency and objective measurement through data and metrics.”
This unique approach has also attracted notable names in the industry to help lead continued Southeast expansion. Included among those senior hires is Benjamin D. Chastain, who has joined Axiom’s Atlanta team from King & Spalding, LLP.
“Ben is an experienced attorney and litigator who will bring his BigLaw background to Axiom to drive further expansion in the region,” said Susan C. Lichtman, Axiom General Manager, Southeast. “His interest in helping pioneer a new approach to law and his knowledge of the local legal market will be an enormous benefit to our large portfolio of Southeastern clients and to Axiom’s continued growth.”
