SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Brightidea, the industry leader in innovation management solutions, announced the winners of its annual innovation awards at the company’s first-ever user conference, Synthesize. Three companies were recognized for outstanding accomplishments in their innovation programs: Quicken Loans, Bristol-Meyers Squibb, and Cisco.
Following CEO Matt Greeley’s opening keynote, Director of Sales, Brian Brown, announced and personally handed the awards to representatives of the companies who were present.
Quicken Loans was given the award for highest percent of employee participation in its innovation program, Cheese Factory. With its determined approach to innovation, the program has engaged 59 percent of company employees since its inception. In 2016 alone, 22 percent of them submitted ideas, translating into more than 2,800 unique ideas out of 13,000 employees. Accepting the award on behalf of Quicken Loans Cheese Factory was innovation program leader Rob Poole.
Bristol-Meyers Squibb won the award for longest-running innovation program—13 years. This has been an outstanding accomplishment, given that innovation has only recently been a part of corporate growth strategy. Thanks in part to its program leader, Tom Hill, Bristol-Meyers Squibb has been ahead of the curve in setting up and sustaining its innovation program. Worthy of note is that during the program’s 13-year period, the company’s stock value has more than tripled.
Cisco took home the award for highest-tracked financial impact in 2016. Since first becoming a Brightidea customer in 2008, the company’s innovation program has come a long way in its development. This year alone, the company tracked a total of $45.3 million dollars in business impact. Proudly accepting the award were four members of Cisco’s innovation team: Nicholas Selk, Marisa Ings, Andrew St. Clair, and Stephanie Hegarty.
In his closing remarks to the awards presentation, Brian Brown announced that Brightidea will be adding a new (fourth) category to its innovation awards program for 2017: highest qualitative impact. The 2017 awards will be announced at the company’s next user conference.
