SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As the first and leading antibacterial liquid hand soap brand, Dial® is supporting Global Handwashing Day (GHD) for the third consecutive year. This year Dial® partnered with Outreach International in support of GHD. Outreach International has over 30 years of experience helping to create sustainable, community-based solutions for people living in poverty, many focused on sanitation and healthy habits such as handwashing.
Dial® communicated its partnership with GHD through social media outreach and the Dial® Rewards website, encouraging engagement and promoting Dial Complete®, the number one Antibacterial Foaming Hand Soap in the United States.
“Dial®, as a leader in liquid hand soap for over 25 years, is proud to support this great cause. We are extremely pleased to partner with Outreach International in an effort to support the organization’s ongoing clean water and sanitation efforts around the globe,” said Justin Giouzepis, Vice President of Marketing, Henkel Body Care. Dial® has committed to donate $50,000 to Outreach International in order to help fund additional community projects.
Global Handwashing Day 2016
Celebrated annually on October 15, Global Handwashing Day was founded by the Global Public-Private Partnership for Handwashing and provides an opportunity to design, test, and replicate creative ways to encourage people to wash their hands with soap at critical times.
Global Handwashing Day is designed to:
- Foster and support a global and local culture of handwashing with soap
- Highlight handwashing around the world
- Raise awareness of the benefits of handwashing with soap
This year’s Global Handwashing Day theme: “Make Handwashing a Habit!” For handwashing to be effective, it must be practiced consistently at key times, such as after using the restroom or before contact with food. While habits are developed over time, this theme emphasizes the importance of handwashing as a ritual behavior for long-term sustainability.
