NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Guestfriend, a system of mobile apps designed to help hotels streamline operations and enhance the guest experience has officially landed in the tropics. Ariel Absera, part of the team that developed Guestfriend, was recently invited by The Caribbean Hotels & Tourism Association to speak at their annual CHIEF conference. On the event: “It was fantastic to see how switched on attendees were to the benefits of mobile.”
“Maintaining four large properties with dozens of departments and more than a thousand rooms is complex,” says Abraham Issa, Director of Operations at Couples Resorts. “My attraction to Guestfriend is its simplicity. Preventative Maintenance and Asset Management are essential but tedious. Other solutions felt complex and overloaded with features. Guestfriend’s back of house package provides all the functionality we need, without making things too complicated.”
Guestfriend’s developers (based in New York) prioritized aesthetics and ease-of-use. “We want Guestfriend to look and feel like apps that people enjoy using in their everyday lives,” says software engineer Gabe Sechan, who left Facebook to be a part of Guestfriend. Ariel enforces their team’s point of view by stating that, “delivering the right capabilities is only half the battle. Assembling them to maximize engagement and utilization is essential.”
Guestfriend also offers an end-to-end solution that integrates a customizable guest-facing app with their back of house product. “When we designed the guest-facing app I resisted the urge to focus on what we can enable guests to do with their phones,” says CTO Laurynas Rimkus. “Our mission is to identify what guests actually want to do with their phones, develop it, and make it look beautiful.” That formula appears to be working. Guestfriend was chosen by Spanish Court Hotel and The Regent Grand, both winners at this year's World Travel Awards.
