Viptela to Present Top SD-WAN Use Cases at Gartner Symposium/ITxpo Tokyo

CEO Amir Khan will Explain How Enterprises are Enhancing Network Security, Performance and Availability for Hybrid Cloud/Datacenter WANs

SAN JOSE, Calif.--()--Viptela, the Software-Defined WAN (SD-WAN) company, will present the top three SD-WAN use cases at Gartner Symposium/ITxpo Tokyo this week that span healthcare, manufacturing, financials, retail and other industries. Using case studies from different enterprises, Viptela will explain the key drivers for SD-WAN adoption as well as best practices for evaluating, piloting and migrating to hybrid WANs that connect on-premise and cloud IT resources.

Amir Khan, founder and CEO of Viptela has more than 20 years of experience in the enterprise and service provider networking industry. Previously he led the enterprise routing business and product management for MX and M series routers at Juniper. Before Juniper he served as Director of Product Management at Cisco for MPLS, routing, QoS and multicast technologies in its switching and routing products. He has also held senior product management positions at Procket Networks and Bay Networks.

Microsoft Azure, AWS, Office 365, Salesforce, and Skype for Business are pervasive cloud services used by enterprises worldwide. However, their performance and user experience is dependent on reliable WAN connectivity. Using findings from Viptela deployments across more than 15,000 sites in manufacturing, financial, retail, healthcare, and government, Mr. Khan will explain how SD-WAN addresses network resiliency, performance, and security for SaaS/IaaS in hybrid WAN environments. He will cover:

-- Enterprise triggers for SD-WAN adoption, which vary greatly across different industries

-- Why traditional approaches to the WAN cannot support hybrid cloud/datacenter requirements

-- Challenges, lessons learned and best practices for evaluating, testing, and deploying SD-WAN, including large scale rollouts

-- The impact of SD-WAN, including cost reductions and increases in security, throughput and reliability

-- APAC-specific considerations and challenges, including ISP broadband adequacy, cost, and service reliability in certain countries - and the challenges with equipment/service rollouts and ensuring a unified service across multiple countries given fractured regulatory environments
