This inaugural event will feature speakers from the area’s largest manufacturers of human and animal healthcare products

FAIRWAY, Kan.--()--The Inaugural Life Science and Healthcare Regional Supply Chain Summit will be held September 29, 2016 at the Hudson Auditorium on the campus of Johnson County Community College. Registration will begin at 2:30 followed by programming from 3-5pm, and a networking reception from 5-7 with light appetizers and drinks.

Designed to provide discussion of all facets of the supply chain, from the sourcing of raw materials to the distribution of a company’s products to the customer relations function, the event will bring together supply chain and logistics professionals, as well as executives from the pharmaceutical industry, distributors, healthcare providers, and contract research organizations. Attendees will hear from industry supply chain experts from UPS, CEVA, The University of Kansas, Pfizer and MilliporeSigma, and gain critical insights into what it takes to meet the supply chain demands of life science companies.

“Kansas City is an area of excellence for both manufacturing and logistics, and has a critical mass of companies working the life sciences and healthcare industry,” said Dennis Ridenour, President & CEO of BioKansas. “This event will shed light on how these companies have addressed extremely challenging, industry-specific hurdles, including regulatory and compliance issues, quality assurance, and the stringent shipping conditions often required in our industry.”
