SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tarana Wireless announced today that Dr. Jan Uddenfeldt, former global CTO for Ericsson and Sony Mobile, has joined Tarana’s board of directors.
Dr. Uddenfeldt is one of the main inventors and industry drivers of 2G, 3G, and 4G wireless technology. He is the former global CTO and Senior VP at Ericsson, a position capping 32 years with the company, including 15 years of R&D leadership during their development of GSM, 3G, and Bluetooth. His expertise drove the development of advanced wireless technologies into the Internet and broadband era, and he is widely recognized for his pioneering contributions to the GSM, 3G UMTS, and 4G LTE standards He is also the former CTO and Senior VP of Sony Mobile, where he led the company’s transition into Android smart phones during 2010-2013. Currently based in Silicon Valley, Dr. Uddenfeldt remains a senior advisor to both Ericsson and Sony as well as a number of startups.
