GOLDEN, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Calling all fans of gourmet, customizable salads that are made-to-order using only the highest quality, farm-fresh ingredients. MAD Greens today announced the launch of the first-ever National Salad Week to celebrate the September harvest and seasonally-inspired eating all around the country as well as the wholesome and flavor-packed goodness that only a salad, made exactly to your liking, can deliver. From Sept. 12 – 18, 2016, salad fans of all ages are invited to sign up at NationalSaladWeek.com to receive one free salad which can be redeemed at any of MAD Greens’ 25 locations in Colorado, Arizona, Texas and Utah through Oct. 9, 2016.
MAD Greens created National Salad Week to celebrate salads and highlight how easy it is to incorporate eating better into the daily routine. A report released by the Center for Disease Control in 2015 found that fewer than 18 percent of adults consumed enough fruit and less than 14 percent consumed the recommended amount of vegetables each day. At MAD Greens guests can choose from 44+ premium toppings to boost the nutritional benefits of their meal, including avocado, egg, edamame, strawberries, mango and walnuts, for more than 134 million satiating salad combinations.
Throughout National Salad Week, MAD Greens will also spread salad joy by featuring salad-centric recipes and tips on madgreens.com. Content will be authored by MAD Greens’ own Chef Dan Long as well as community and local sourcing partners like Johnson’s Backyard Garden in Texas and Denver Urban Gardens in Colorado.
“Our passion for building the perfect, chef-inspired salad for every guest is what we look forward to every day. It’s what drives our team members to arrive hours before the restaurant opens in order to make all of our dressings from scratch, hand-craft our hummus, grill and roast our meats, bake our croutons and chop countless pounds of produce,” said MAD Greens Co-Founder and Chief Culinary Officer Dan Long. “Whether you frequent MAD Greens several times a week or have never explored our menu, we’re confident you will discover your perfect salad at MAD Greens during National Salad Week.”
MAD Greens is known for its signature salads named after “MAD” famous people and literary characters such as Dionysos, Ty Cobb and Edgar Allan Poe, in addition to hearty paninis, wraps, soups and fresh juices which are all prepared in-house, from scratch on a daily basis. In the month of August alone, MAD Greens served up 11,500 pounds of tomatoes, nearly 56,000 pounds of lettuce greens, 5,500 pounds of carrots, 36,000 avocados and 23,000 apples.
To redeem this first-ever offer from MAD Greens, fans simply need to visit the National Salad Week website and enter their email address (or mailing address if they prefer to receive their free coupon via mail). Within minutes fans will receive a confirmation email from MAD Greens that includes a mobile coupon to be redeemed at the register in restaurants.
