PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Google announced today that is partnering with Curalate to help power ‘shop the look’, a new beta experience on mobile that makes search more inspiring. With ‘shop the look’, people will be able to shop products featured in lifestyle images provided by Curalate and other partners when they are looking for inspiration on what to buy.
“Discovery is about stumbling upon things you didn’t even know you were looking for,” said Curalate CEO and co-founder Apu Gupta. “By partnering with Curalate, Google is able to bring more product discovery to search using imagery as a jumping off point. Essentially, search now becomes even more eye-catching and inspiring.”
To power ‘shop the look’, Curalate is supplying Google with lifestyle imagery sourced from Curalate clients - some of the world’s most recognized brands including Crate and Barrel, Forever 21 and Neiman Marcus. These images depict products in context rather than on a white background as traditionally shot for online shopping environments. Brands use Curalate’s platform to connect these images to the products contained within them, creating “intelligent images” that are seamlessly distributed to Google for availability in Google Shopping results. As a result, brands get a powerful new distribution source for their content while consumers get search results that are both informative and inspiring.
As an example, a search for “patio ideas” may result in an image of a lush outdoor setting complete with chairs, tables, planters, dinnerware, and more, providing the consumer with a way to envision how all of these products fit together. Clicking into the result will enable a person to learn about and purchase featured products in the scene and even find related products to expand their perspective further.
‘Shop the look’ will initially be available for a subset of mobile search queries in the US. For more information on this exciting new discovery experience visit Google’s official announcement here: https://adwords.googleblog.com/2016/09/shop-look-on-google.html.

Curalate currently works with hundreds of the world’s leading brands and powers visual discovery for millions of consumers, daily. For more information visit: www.curalate.com.
