Ten Companies Introduced Innovative Solutions at Boomtown’s Sixth Demo Day Presentation

Healthtech, internet and mobile innovations were presented to a sold out crowd August 12 at the Boulder Theater

BOULDER, Colo.--()--Boomtown, which nurtures selected startups through a 12-week mentoring program, hosted their sixth Demo Day for a sold-out crowd of investors and the general public at the Boulder Theater Aug. 12. Ten startups, including members of Boomtown’s second healthtech accelerator class, introduced their companies for the first time.

“We are constantly looking for startups that address pressing issues in the mobile, internet and healthtech spaces head-on, and our Summer 2016 class did just that,” said Toby Krout, Boomtown co-founder and executive director. “Every team in our Summer 2016 class demonstrated unparalleled dedication to their solution, which included everything from a team of high school students helping paraplegics move with voice command driven technology to a team alleviating family stress by streamlining how to look for assisted living options for their loved ones.”

The companies graduating the Boomtown summer 2016 class include:

  • Adjelly: Adjelly makes Facebook ads stupidly simple for anyone to get started.
  • BeVisible: BeVisible Latinx is a free social platform that connects Latinx millennials with each other and career opportunities.
  • cliexa: cliexa is a suite of applications for people with chronic diseases, that helps them track their disease activity and medication, so that they can get better treatment and have less pain.
  • DMI: Conceptually akin to “eBay for data,” dmi.io is the marketplace for business data.
  • Emrys: Your data science tools, all in one place.
  • InnaMed: InnaMed Inc. is creating the gateway to personalized health by developing a home blood testing device for the regular monitoring of the most important health indicators.
  • Lifestyle Connect: Lifestyle Connect is a wellness management platform that empowers personal trainers to rapidly scale their business while driving improved client results.
  • Mimi: Mimi helps families instantly find hands-on assisted living options for when their aging loved ones need more personal attention and care.
  • Myonic: Myonic designs a sleeve that a paralyzed person can have put on their arm, that will allow them to move their arm through voice commands
  • WageKick: WageKick's platform takes the guesswork out finding the right hourly job or applicant with profiles, dashboards, and job quality factors like take home pay, commute, and company ratings.

The ad tech, IoT and healthcare teams received hands-on mentoring from dozens of business people and entrepreneurs, including physicians from Colorado Permanente Medical Group (CPMG), who bring real world clinical input to the entrepreneurs throughout the program.

“Boomtown is a great resource for Colorado's startup community and it continues to grow and become more sophisticated,” said Peter Adams, executive director of Rockies Venture Club. “I particularly like how they are differentiating themselves from other accelerators by focusing on specific areas, starting with ad tech and IoT, and now expanding to healthtech companies. This approach presents an attractive opportunity to help reach the right investors.”

Applications for the next Boomtown session, beginning this Fall, are now open at https://www.f6s.com/boomtownapplication#/apply.
