PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Campbell Global, a leader in sustainable timberland and natural resource investments that manages approximately 2.7 million acres (1.1 million hectares) worldwide, today announced the creation of two new leadership roles to further support the development and execution of the firm’s long-term strategic vision.
Angie Davis will serve as the firm’s President, and David Rumker will serve as its Chief Investment Officer, both newly created positions. John Gilleland, Campbell’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, will continue to oversee the business.
Ms. Davis has led Campbell Global’s business development and client service teams, and as President will continue to focus on client service, while also working closely with Chairman and CEO John Gilleland to execute Campbell Global’s growth strategy and further enhance its leadership role within the industry. By creating a senior position that focuses on both client service and strategy, the firm recognizes the importance of ensuring that client service remains a top priority as it develops a longer-term vision and succession planning process.
“We are thrilled to create these new positions and have Angie as our President,” said Mr. Gilleland. “Angie has been with Campbell Global for 16 years and has been part of the executive leadership team and a member of the Board of Directors for the past several years. This new role and her leadership make us well positioned to execute our comprehensive client service plan for both existing and future clients.”
Ms. Davis began her career with KPMG Peat Marwick in the audit group. Prior to joining Campbell Global in 2000, she was Assistant Director of Investments with the Oregon State Treasury where she was a member of the investment team responsible for investing all State of Oregon funds, including Oregon’s Public Employees Retirement Fund.
“I look forward to continuing to provide the high quality responsiveness and industry expertise that our clients have come to expect from us, while ensuring that our business is well positioned for future growth and success,” said Ms. Davis.
Dave Rumker has been promoted to the new role of Chief Investment Officer (CIO). The CIO position was created to direct Campbell Global’s investment and asset management strategies across all regions. “With Dave’s experience in the industry and background of both forestry and business, he is uniquely qualified for this role,” said Mr. Gilleland. “I am very pleased that we have Dave ready to step in and assume this new role as Chief Investment Officer.”
Mr. Rumker has over 30 years of timberland investment management experience. He joined Campbell Global in 1992 and serves on the executive leadership team and Board of Directors and provides oversight for Campbell’s research initiatives.
“We have a truly fantastic team and processes in place,” said Mr. Rumker, “and I’m excited to refine and implement our investment strategies for new acquisitions and our current portfolio.”
The firm also announced that Stephen Levesque has been promoted to Managing Director of Operations, and Julie Lawrence has been promoted to Managing Director of Portfolio Management. Mr. Levesque joined Campbell Global 15 years ago and was previously employed with a natural resource consulting firm. Ms. Lawrence has been employed with the firm over 25 years and began her career in public accounting.
The firm currently manages approximately 2.7 million acres (1.1 million hectares) worldwide. In this past year, Campbell Global, on behalf of its clients, acquired over 100,000 acres in King and Snohomish Counties in the state of Washington and has closed on almost $250 million under its global strategy, which is focused on seven core countries in Latin America, Australasia and North America.
