SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BioUtah, Utah’s leading industry association for the life science community, today announced the seventh annual Utah Life Science Summit, Frontiers of Innovation and Regulation, program. The premier annual life science event will be held Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the Calvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, and will feature presentations from top industry, government and educational leaders.
"Although the Utah Life Science Summits have been a great success in the past, we are excited to announce a new format for this year’s event,” said Kelly Slone, President and CEO of BioUtah. “We will be including the Life Science Talks and more in-depth working sessions, as well as an all-day regulatory component. This year’s event will provide valuable information for everyone who attends.”
The 2016 Utah Life Science Summit will incorporate local and national leaders like Gary Hebert, Governor of Utah, who will provide the opening session keynote, Mike Mussallem, Chairman and CEO of Edwards Lifesciences, who will provide the luncheon keynote, and Kevin Madden, Veteran Presidential Campaign Strategist and Christopher Campbell, Staff Director to the US Senate Committee, who will provide a 2016 Presidential and Congressional Election Preview. As such, the all-day regulatory theme will provide valuable discussions and insight to new regulations that affect the life science industry. Topics will include the new CE Mark requirements for MDR’s, patient preference information in FDA submissions and the use of post-market data to support pre-market approval. The summit attendees will also be able to hear first-hand of the vision driving Utah’s leadership in medical innovation and trends. Start-up life science attendees will also be able to interact with and provide investment pitches to seasoned investors.
New to the Life Science Summit is the respected session “The Value of BioUtah’s Service Providers” showcasing some of Utah’s top services including engineering, laboratory, financial, marketing, and technical support services.
The Life Science Summit will also host a luncheon that will award and honor individuals and organizations that are making the most impactful footprint in Utah’s life science ecosystem. Four awards will be given during the luncheon which includes the Public Service Award, the Corporate Award, the Individual Award and the Entrepreneurial Award. The nomination process is now open and the deadline for all abovementioned awards is September 2, so please submit your nominees.
