(NYSE: DMD), a diversified internet company comprised of several media and marketplace properties, today announced that Matt Gehring has joined the company as Vice President of Marketing. Gehring will lead marketing and retention for Demand Media’s marketplace properties, Saatchi Art and Society6.

Gehring brings nearly two decades of marketing and advertising experience to Demand Media. He most recently served as Vice President of Marketing for e-commerce leader Touch of Modern. While there, he significantly expanded the company’s marketing and retention efforts, helping it grow more than 100 percent. He was also head of marketing at Provide Commerce for more than four years, overseeing all branding and marketing efforts for the company. Gehring has also held senior-level marketing roles with Marchex, Classmates.com and Musicmatch.
