Dropbox Named a Leader in Gartner’s 2016 Magic Quadrant for Enterprise File Synchronization and Sharing

Company accelerates pace of innovation as nearly 200,000 business customers adopt Dropbox to work better together

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Dropbox today announced it has been named a Leader in Gartner’s 2016 Magic Quadrant for Enterprise File Synchronization and Sharing report. Dropbox is building one of the most powerful collaboration platforms in the world. It helps more than 500 million registered users and nearly 200,000 business customers, including 52 percent of the Fortune 500, to work better together and be more productive.

Gartner’s Magic Quadrant evaluates vendors within a particular market segment based on their completeness of vision and their ability to execute. According to the Gartner report, Leaders “provide mature offerings that meet market demand. They have demonstrated the vision necessary to sustain their market positions as requirements evolve. The hallmark of Leaders is that they focus and invest in their offerings to lead the market and affect its overall direction. Leaders can be the vendors to watch as you try to understand how new offerings might evolve. Leaders typically possess a significant, satisfied customer base, and they enjoy high visibility in the market. Their size and maturity enable them to remain viable under changing market conditions. Leaders typically respond to a wide market audience by supporting broad market requirements. However, they may fail to meet the specific needs of vertical markets or other more specialized segments.”

“We’re excited to be named a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise File Synchronization and Sharing,” said Thomas Hansen, Dropbox’s Global Vice President of Revenue. “We continue to accelerate the pace of innovation at Dropbox and focus on helping our business and enterprise customers increase employee productivity and accomplish more.”
