SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--San Francisco’s Duncan/Channon was named Silver Small Agency of the Year in the West at the 2016 Ad Age Small Agency Awards in Miami on Wednesday night. The Ad Age Small Agency Awards are the industry’s premier honors for outstanding independent shops with 150 or fewer employees.
“This huge recognition is a testament to our agency’s obsession with creating arresting work that actually works, as well as our culture of collaboration,” said Andy Berkenfield, CEO, Duncan/Channon. “Our team and partners will be raising glasses at The Tip, our agency’s rooftop speakeasy, to celebrate this win. It comes thanks to the deep, trusting relationships with our clients and staff that fuel our passion for uncovering and telling stories that matter.”
Duncan/Channon earned this honor from AdAge thanks to its compelling work for clients such as the California Tobacco Control Program, John Muir Health and Kona Brewing – as well its innovative approach to inspiring and retaining its 60-person staff. In presenting the award to Duncan/Channon, Ad Age pointed to the agency’s portfolio of creative work – noting that its outstanding work for Kona Brewing caught the judges’ attention. The strength of the agency’s work, talent and new business efforts generated a 40 percent lift in agency revenue in the past two years.
Duncan/Channon’s AdAge Small Agency of the Year honors comes on the heels of several accolades for the agency’s “Wake Up” public health campaign for the California Tobacco Control Program, including a Silver Effie in the Advocacy category, Campaign of the Year honors from the San Francisco Bay Area Innovation Group and a Pixel Award for the campaign’s website StillBlowingSmoke.org. The “Wake Up” campaign also took Best in Show, as well as gold in both the video and integrated categories for advocacy campaigns, at the 2015 Healthcare Marketing IMPACT Awards presented by Modern Healthcare and Advertising Age.
