SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Twitch, the world’s leading social video platform and community for gamers, today announced details surrounding its new Industry track, more than 70 confirmed panels, and its party at TwitchCon 2016. Darude, EDM superstar and creator of the hit "Sandstorm," will be back as one of the acts performing at TwitchCon: The Party, which will once again feature a surprise A-list artist. Tickets for TwitchCon 2016 and the party can be purchased from the official TwitchCon 2016 website.
After a lengthy review process of hundreds of panel submissions from the Twitch community and staff, over 70 panels have been selected to date which can be viewed in detail at the TwitchCon 2016 website. The panels are broken down into two different tracks: a Community track that focuses on subjects related to broadcasting, moderating, and the fan experience, and a new Industry track related to the business and development of video games and live streaming.
Among the extensive topics covered by the Community panels are broadcasting tips for gamers with disabilities, a Q&A with the Twitch Chat team, best practices for growing a channel, internet security, the origin story of Twitch Creative, and a live showing of the popular Twitch talk show “Dropped Frames” with hosts itmeJP, CohhCarnage, and Ezekiel_III.
TwitchCon 2016 is expanding its focus to include an Industry track related to the business and development of video games and live streaming. This track brings together Twitch broadcasters and staff members to share insights on building a compelling game for Twitch broadcasting and doing business on the Twitch platform. Panel topics include creating compelling stream-friendly content for a game, the art of a successful marketing campaign, intro to the Twitch API, building an esports game, and how to work with broadcasters hosted by top Twitch personalities Ellohime, OMGItsFirefoxx, iiJeriichoii, and more. For more about the Industry track, visit the Industry Tickets page.
Another key attraction of TwitchCon 2016 is TwitchCon: The Party where the community can congregate and celebrate outside the confines of the convention center. This event--which sold out at last year’s TwitchCon and featured deadmau5--will take place at San Diego’s Petco Park on October 1 with doors opening at 6:00pm. The first spotlight performer announced on the lineup is popular electronic dance music producer and DJ, Darude, who will be returning to TwitchCon. TwitchCon: The Party will also boast a surprise A-List headliner that is expected to be announced prior to the show.
"Holy Kappa last year’s TwitchCon party was amazing and pretty much prompted me to start my own stream, so can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to be back partying with all the crazies!" said Darude.
TwitchCon: The Party is for ages 18+ with tickets only available for purchase to those with a pass to TwitchCon 2016. Attendees who have already purchased their conference passes can modify their order to include party tickets.
This week also marks the launch of a new teespring campaign featuring shirts from select TwitchCon 2016 featured broadcasters and an official Road to TwitchCon shirt. All shirts come with an exclusive Bleed Purple sticker. This limited edition campaign ends on July 31.
TwitchCon 2016 will take place September 30-October 2 at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, CA. To assist with accommodations, Twitch has negotiated travel discounts and secured a limited number of reduced-rate hotel rooms near the convention center. Since rooms at the group rate are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, book early for the best selection and price through Twitch’s online booking system.
