BALTIMORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--OptioLabs, a developer of security insight solutions for the mobile enterprise, today announced it was granted US Patent US9363670 for restricting access to network resources via in-location access point protocol. The patent covers technology in the company’s OptioCore product, which enables Android OEMs to secure their devices with adaptive policies to ensure high enterprise security and regulatory compliance while maintaining user productivity and satisfaction.
Mobile devices are designed to connect and communicate liberally with wireless access points. This is often a security problem that enterprise and government users need to address to ensure their secrets do not easily leak through unintended connections. This patented technology offers customers a high level of control over their data security by enforcing strong authentication protocols that are tied to location. Customers can use local wireless beacons to signify secure locations, and either prohibit communications, or enforce multi-level authentication in those areas.
“This patent covers one of the key technologies that enables OptioCore to provide the intelligent, adaptive protection against sophisticated mobile security threats our customers demand and expect,” said Bill Anderson, Chief Product Officer of OptioLabs. “We pride ourselves on bringing next-generation technology to market and look forward to continue offering effective security solutions for the mobile enterprise.”
OptioLabs now has two patents issued and 14 patents pending that cover a range of inventions from security for embedded mobile systems to the secure display of information. With agreements with OEM phone manufacturers, financial institutions, government, oil & gas, healthcare and other enterprise customers, OptioLabs is uniquely positioned among mobile security providers. The company’s comprehensive mobile solutions also allow enterprise and government customers who need to secure information on their displays to protect against eavesdropper threats and comply with government regulations.
