SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Computer Education Management Association (CEdMA), the premier professional networking organization for training executives, managers, and professionals in technology companies, today announced that Susanne Jaklin, director of education services at Wind River, an Intel company, was honored with CEdMA’s annual Innovation Award. The Innovation Award, given annually recognizes one high-tech company or individual for outstanding innovation in training business methods or practices.
Jaklin received the Project Management Institute (PMI) Portfolio Management certification in March 2015. She then applied PMI Portfolio Management processes and best practices to the education services department’s product and services planning, including strategic alignment, governance, performance, communication and risk management. Jaklin’s project introduced best practices from different industries into education services. It provided a framework that captures key components to better align the education portfolio with the overall company strategy, giving multi-layer stakeholders input into decisions.
The model fundamentally changed how Wind River makes decisions about new course development, based on actual data. Through Jaklin’s guidance, all new education offerings at Wind River are now strategically aligned to business strategy.
“I am honored to be recognized with this CEdMA innovation award, and particularly for work I believe is so important in the technology industry,” said Jaklin. “It is extremely gratifying to know that the work done increased high value offerings, reduced manual processes by 50%, and improved efficiency and actionable metrics.”
Jesse Finn, President of CEdMA commented, “Susanne and her team at Wind River applied a proven cross-industry process to the creation and impact of the education services portfolio, eliminating redundancies and better positioning both education services for success. They went beyond project management into a far more comprehensive planning discipline. This is a huge win for Wind River, as well as for its partners and customers.”
