NEW YORK--()--New York Cruise Lines, Inc. will open Fish Bar at North River Landing, its newest three-story seafood lounge and restaurant at Pier 81 on West 41st Street on the Hudson River, on May 1, 2016. Fish Bar, housed on a 10,000 square foot yacht, is joining the highly acclaimed floating lobster shack, North River Lobster Company, which remains one of the hottest casual dining spots in New York.

“We have been eagerly awaiting the launch of our second floating restaurant concept and are confident that this new venue will quickly earn its title as one of the best urban rooftops and waterfront social settings in Manhattan,” said Daniel Boockvar, Chief Executive Officer of New York Cruise Lines.

Fish Bar’s menu will boast an impressive overture of shared plates, including a new take on the classic Dover Sole, preparing it as a crudo garnished with pickled peppers, onions and celery greens; Plymouth Rock Oysters in a cornmeal crust and sriracha lime butter; Tomato and Garlic Confit Toast with basil oil; Black Truffle Burrata over heirloom tomatoes and balsamic glaze; and pan seared Red Mullets with micro greens and garlic jus. Fish Bar’s dessert menu will provide an extraordinary finale to accompany the symphonic culinary experience, with an array of sorbets inspired by Cabernet, Champagne, and Campari.

North River Landing’s Executive Chef Nikolaos Saragias, whose expertise stemmed from working alongside the greats, from Chef Eberhard Muller to David Burke, Jean Georges and Fred Sabo, will be overseeing all aspects of Fish Bar’s culinary experience.

At the core of Fish Bar’s craft beverage program will be farm-to-cocktail recipes featuring fresh rosemary, mint, and other herbs that will be grown in the North River Landing rooftop garden. The diverse specialty cocktail menu will include the Aphrodite Treat, a Roca Patron based cocktail with pomegranate, cranberry, and lime and a refreshing Fingenza Sour, made with Fingenza Vodka, egg whites and fresh lime juice.

Also part of the on-board beverage program will be a dedicated craft beer and champagne bar featuring over 20 craft beers and another 26 varieties of champagne. In addition, a wine discovery program led by the in-house sommelier will be offered, which will allow guests to taste an ever-rotating selection of specialty boutique wines alongside delectable food pairings.

Designed by acclaimed New York architect Andrew Franz, the renovated yacht will have a 3,000 square-foot outdoor top deck for taking in sunsets and city views, and 6,000 square-feet of bi-level interior dining space with expansive indoor and outdoor bars, accommodating more than 450 guests. Inspired by the classic styling of vintage yachts, Franz conceived of a contemporary nautical atmosphere featuring hammered brass bars, richly upholstered banquettes, reclaimed teak floors, and semi-private outdoor cabins. Like North River Lobster Company, Fish Bar will distinguish itself by offering several short, sailings on the Hudson River daily, boasting sweeping 360-degree views of the Manhattan skyline with an “out of city” experience.
