SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Silicon Valley Forum today announced the final call for applications to their 3rd annual World Cup Tech Challenge, which will be held on June 1st, 2016, at the Microsoft Campus in Mountain View. The deadline for submission is April 29th; the 24 qualifying startups will be announced no later than May 10th, 2016.
Each June, Silicon Valley Forum welcomes innovative technology startups from all over the world apply to the World Cup Tech Challenge, a global pitch competition modeled on the famed international soccer tournament. Now in its third year, World Cup Tech Challenge is introducing new categories:
- Internet of Things (IoT)
Startups accepted into the World Cup Tech Challenge have launched their products in their respective local markets, and are looking to leverage Silicon Valley’s unique resources toward a global launch. The competition brings entrepreneurs face-to-face with Silicon Valley VCs, corporate executives, prospective customers and partners, and media. This event is sponsored and hosted by Microsoft.

Startups eligible for World Cup Tech Challenge 2016 are in a pre-global stage—a successful launch in a local market, ready for a transition to a global one.
