Vertex Energy, Inc. Sets Date for 2016 Annual Meeting of Stockholders

HOUSTON--()--Vertex Energy, Inc. (VTNR) (“Vertex Energy” or the “Company”), an environmental services company that recycles industrial waste streams and off-specification commercial chemical products, announced today that it has scheduled its Annual Meeting of Stockholders to be held on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at a time and location to be determined and specified in the Company’s proxy statement related to the Annual Meeting. The record date for determination of stockholders entitled to vote at the meeting, and any adjournment thereof, will be set as the close of business on Thursday, April 21, 2016. More information regarding the Company’s 2016 Annual Meeting of Stockholders will be disclosed in the Company’s proxy statement which the Company anticipates filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on or around Friday, April 22, 2016.

To be timely, pursuant to the Company’s Bylaws, as amended, and Rule 14a-8 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended, any notice of business or nominations with respect to the 2016 Annual Meeting of Stockholders must be received by the Company at its principal executive offices at 1331 Gemini Street, Suite 250, Houston, Texas 77058, Attention: Corporate Secretary by no later than 5:00 p.m., Central Time, on Thursday, April 21, 2016. Any such stockholder proposal must be submitted and must comply with the applicable rules and regulations of the Securities and Exchange Commission, including Rule 14a-8 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended, and the Company’s Bylaws, as amended.
