SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Twitch, the world’s leading social video platform and community for gamers, today announced its official call for content, while unveiling a dozen of the top 60 broadcasting personalities scheduled to appear at TwitchCon 2016. The first round of tickets for TwitchCon 2016 will be available to the public in April, with more details to be announced at a later date.
Beginning today, Twitch community members are invited to submit content ideas, including panels, workshops, and other presentations for consideration via TwitchCon.com. With the recent official launch of Twitch Creative, creative content will have a significantly larger presence than the previous year, including galleries, contests and panels. As a result, submissions catering to the Twitch Creative community are encouraged. The call for all submissions closes on May 8 at 9:00pm PT/12:00am ET.
"At our inaugural TwitchCon we saw broadcasters, partners, fans, and employees benefit from the wide range of content that was submitted by the community," said Marcus "djWHEAT” Graham, Director of Programming, Twitch. "This year we're offering more panel space and an additional day to ensure that we have the most eclectic lineup of content that will educate, entertain, and inspire attendees."
At TwitchCon 2016, hundreds of Partnered broadcasters will be in attendance with 60 featured broadcasters currently slated to participate in attendee facing activities. Among the first dozen being announced are some of TwitchCon 2015’s most popular alumni, including summit1g, PhantomL0rd, Nightblue3, Trick2g, Swiftor, iijeriichoii, OMGitsfirefoxx, and TimTheTatman. There are also more than a dozen broadcasters making their debut on the featured list, such as itsHafu, trihex, B0aty, and UFC champion/avid broadcaster Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson aka Mightymouseufc125.
Featured broadcasters will be integrated into a number of different interactive areas. This includes streaming with fans in the Broadcast Pods, playing with them in the Gaming Lab, providing guidance in the Education Zone, and meeting-&-greeting in the Broadcaster Alley.
Other social spots at TwitchCon include Indie Alley, where independent developers showcase new and upcoming games, the Music Garden, where selections from Twitch Music will be played along with special guest DJ appearances, and the Creative Zone, where attendees can meet top Twitch Creative broadcasters and partake in arts and craft activities. TwitchCon 2016 is also bringing back its After Party where a surprise performer will take the stage on Saturday, October 1.
TwitchCon 2016 will take place September 30-October 2 at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, CA. For TwitchCon-specific updates, visit the TwitchCon homepage to sign up for the newsletter and Twitter feed.
