NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Accenture (NYSE:ACN) is positioned as a Leader in an IDC Health Insights IDC MarketScape vendor assessment covering IT outsourcing (ITO) across the life sciences research and development (R&D) industry. This is the second consecutive time Accenture has achieved this position.
The report, “IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Life Science R&D ITO 2016 Vendor Assessment” (#US40502516e, February 2016) provides an assessment of the life science R&D industry and market trends, comparing major vendors and assesses the criteria that are most important for life science companies to consider when selecting a service provider.
For the purposes of this analysis, IDC Health Insights divided potential key measures for success into two primary categories: capabilities and strategies. The assessment includes client references. A total of ten vendors participated in the vendor assessment.
In naming Accenture as a Leader, the IDC MarketScape stated, “Building on an aggressive growth and acquisition strategy, Accenture has diversified significantly beyond its traditional big pharma focus and has grown its presence among emerging and mid-tier life science companies in recent years.”
“This strong endorsement of our ITO capabilities follows a recent Leader designation in the R&D business process outsourcing space by IDC Health Insights, and validates the breadth and depth of our R&D competencies,” said Kevin Julian, managing director of Accelerated R&D Services, Accenture Life Sciences. “We are pleased with IDC’s acknowledgement of our focus on market diversification, and the recognition by our clients, relative to other service providers, as a ‘knowledgeable and high-quality service provider.’”
Accenture has also been positioned as a Leader in a recent “IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Life Science R&D BPO 2016 Vendor Assessment” (#US40961616e, January 2016).
