ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--FI Navigator, a provider of a web-based bank data and analytics for the banking vertical, announced the acquisition of AppData, a pioneering provider of mobile app data and analytics. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Click to Tweet
Founded in 2008, AppData tracks more than two million individual data points per day, providing comprehensive performance statistics and digital analytics to drive smarter business decisions for app developers, investors and advertisers. FI Navigator previously partnered with AppData in the development of its recently launched mobile banking module, which provides unprecedented vertical intelligence on the more than 6,400 financial institutions currently offering mobile banking applications, as well as their vendor providers.
“Mobile web access has surpassed desktop access and apps dominate that engagement with the mobile web,” said Steve Cotton, CEO and founder of FI Navigator. “Additionally, a significant portion of consumer engagement is with social media. These trends serve to heighten the value of app and social media data for those seeking to better understand consumer behavior. Acquiring AppData’s capabilities not only expands our data set to include social media and app data, but also garners the technology to continue that expansion to other sites. The resulting combination enhances FI Navigator’s ability to advise the financial institutions and vendor partners effecting banking’s digital transformation.”
“We are delighted about the combination of our data harvesting capabilities with FI Navigator’s focused vertical analytics,” said Scott Johnson, president of AppData. “While the term ‘synergy’ is often over-used, it is clear that this combination sums to more than its parts. What drew us to FI Navigator was that, of all our customers over the years, they had the single best use of our core data and capabilities - so much so that we made more sense together than apart.”
As part of FI Navigator, AppData will continue to provide its subscription services to current clients through its separate website at www.appdata.com. Scott Johnson will join FI Navigator’s management team as Lead Architect focused on solution development and evolution.
