WASHINGTON--()--FiscalNote today announced the addition of U.S. Army General (Ret.) Stanley McChrystal to the company’s board of directors.

A retired four-star general, McChrystal has been a company advisor since 2014 and will bring extraordinary leadership experience and organizational expertise to this new role. McChrystal will help guide FiscalNote not only as it grows in size, but expands into international markets.

"Stan's remarkable military career and exemplified leadership skills will be invaluable resources to FiscalNote as the company grows and expands into the business compliance and international law sectors,” said FiscalNote CEO Tim Hwang.

McChrystal is the former commander of U.S. and International Security Assistance Forces Afghanistan and the former commander of Joint Special Operations Command, the nation’s premier military counter-terrorism force. He is best known for developing and implementing the current counter-insurgency strategy in Afghanistan, and for creating a comprehensive counter-terrorism organization that revolutionized the interagency operating culture.

In 2011, he founded McChrystal Group, an elite advisory services firm composed of a diverse mix of professionals from the military, academic, business, and intelligence sectors who specialize in transforming stagnant and siloed organizations into cohesive, adaptable “teams of teams.” McChrystal founded the group to deliver innovative leadership solutions to American businesses in order to help them transform and succeed in challenging, dynamic environments.

“I had my experience in a military career but now I have five and a half years experience in the business world so what I hope to do is be able to contribute in some ways to the challenges of a growing company,” McChrystal said.
