MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--VigiLanz, a digital healthcare intelligence firm, today announced the availability of its first set of interoperable web services on the firm’s open enterprise intelligence resources (EIR) software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform. VigiLanz announced that its services-oriented architecture and open application programming interface capability enables efficient aggregation, interaction and exchange of disparate data throughout the healthcare enterprise and across any of its software technologies, including EMRs and third-party single-point-solution vendors.
“Our vision for the interoperable web services we are introducing today is to position our platform with capability for clients to consume VigiLanz data and intelligence however and wherever it is most convenient for the end-user,” said Adam Klass, VigiLanz Chief Technology Officer. “The goal is to support and enable next-generation healthcare providers by delivering real-time results from the VigiLanz EIR platform into any clinical workflow.”
According to Mr. Klass, VigiLanz is actively participating with the Health Level Seven (HL7) standards organization on the Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) initiative and providing SMART on FHIR applications. FHIR is an industry-wide effort to create future data standards to accommodate healthcare interoperability and efficient exchange of electronic health information.
“VigiLanz clinical intelligence and interoperability services complement today’s EMR systems which, on their own, are being viewed as insufficient to deliver agile, real-time intelligence services,” said Mr. Klass. “There is a new breed of next-generation SaaS information technology providers, like VigiLanz, which leading healthcare industry analysts are calling EIR platforms, capable of interoperating with EMR systems and are built with innovative abstract data architectures that help hospitals improve patient care and operational performance.”
Mr. Klass said clinicians and administrators can now rapidly integrate new clinical and business information in real-time for better decision-making and, most importantly, for improved patient care with VigiLanz’ new interoperability services.
VigiLanz will showcase its VigiLanz Intelligence innovations at the upcoming HIMSS16 event February 20-March 4 in Las Vegas (Booth #12306).
