BARCELONA, Spain--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Baicells launches one of the world’s smallest base stations -- elfCell at Mobile World Congress, held in Barcelona, Spain, during February 22 to 25, 2016. As an indoor small cell, elfCell uses the FSM90xx chipsets, a product of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated, and integrates baseband, RF and antenna. The palm-sized elfCell is considered to be one of the world’s smallest base stations.
Currently, analysts estimate that 85% of the data traffic happens indoors. User experience is significantly affected by indoor network coverage. At the same time, it is always difficult for operators to deploy base stations in the residential and enterprise scenarios. Baicells’ small-sized elfCell is designed to help solve this problem. With low power consumption, less cables, and a smaller size, elfCell can be installed at any place to provide deep coverage in an environment-friendly way.
