CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Thompson Hine LLP is pleased to announce that David D. Watson has joined the firm’s Corporate Transactions & Securities practice as a partner in Cleveland. Watson comes from McDonald Hopkins LLC, where he has served as the co-chair of the business transactions practice group.
Watson is the fourth lateral partner to join Thompson Hine this year, following last month’s expansion of its New York office with the addition of Timothy J. McCarthy and Louis M. Solomon to the Business Litigation practice and Jonathan A. Olick to the Real Estate practice.
Watson has substantial experience in transactional and general corporate law, including acquisition and disposition of businesses, both in the ordinary course and in bankruptcy; organization, operation and disposition of partnerships, limited liability companies and joint ventures; private company planning and counseling; resolution of private shareholder disputes; and counseling clients on day-to-day business matters.
“I was drawn to Thompson Hine’s innovation in service delivery and its commitment to providing clients with exceptional value,” said Watson. “I am impressed by the firm’s culture and forward-thinking approach to the practice of law, in particular its award-winning SmartPaTH® program, and I know my clients will benefit from its extensive capabilities in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, corporate, intellectual property, real estate, finance and litigation.”
“David is a great fit for our Cleveland office and the firm’s corporate practice,” said Robyn Minter Smyers, Cleveland office partner-in-charge. “He has a proven track record of successfully representing clients ranging from individual entrepreneurs to Fortune 50 corporations in major transactions in Ohio and nationally. We are excited to bring him on board as a resource for our existing clients.”
Watson received his A.B., cum laude, from Harvard University in 1986 and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1993.
