CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bojangles’ (NASDAQ: BOJA), the iconic restaurant chain famous for its hand-breaded, bone-in chicken; made-from-scratch biscuits and Legendary Iced Tea® steeped the old fashioned way, is the Official Tailgate Headquarters and Sweet Tea of the Carolina Panthers and has been feeding Panthers players and staff lunch every week since the start of the regular season.
So what is Bojangles’ to do when its closest restaurant is over 2,000 miles away from the big game, with winter storm Kayla set to wreak havoc on much of the U.S. this week? Load up the Legendary Teamobile with tailgate gear and souvenirs and embark on a historic cross-country road trip to carry out its official duties, of course!
Bojangles’ branded vehicle, co-piloted by 2 unassuming junior marketing staffers Cliff and Colby, will depart early Monday from its home base in Charlotte, NC and plans to stop at several Bojangles’ restaurants, college campuses and national landmarks along the way. Its route and scheduled stops will also be determined by Bojangles’ customer and Panthers fan requests using #Tea4PantherNation on social media. Customers and fans are also encouraged to post pictures of themselves enjoying Bojangles’ Legendary Tea wearing their Panthers gear using #Tea4PantherNation.
The Legendary Teamobile is scheduled to arrive in Santa Clara early Friday morning, just in time to deliver Panthers players and staff the Legendary Sweet Tea they have come to expect every Friday. Bojangles’ will also be visiting parties and tailgates in Santa Clara and the Bay Area throughout the weekend, sharing its Legendary Tea with fans from throughout the country. It will be the first time Bojangles’ has served its iconic product in the state of California.
“Once the Panthers clinched the conference championship, we knew we had to bring the Bojangles’ love out to Santa Clara,” said Bojangles’ Senior Vice President of Marketing, Randy Poindexter. “We’re excited to bring a piece of Southern tradition across the country and deliver our Legendary Tea to Panther Nation at the big game this weekend.”
Bojangles’ customers and Panthers fans everywhere are encouraged to follow Cliff and Colby’s cross-country escapades on Twitter (@Bojangles1977) and Instagram (@Bojangles_1977) using hashtag #Tea4PantherNation.
