SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AppDirect, the leader in cloud service commerce, today announced a partnership with Wacom, the global leader in the interactive pen tablet and display market and a key supplier of digital pen and multi-touch sensor components for smartphones, tablets, and more. Through the partnership, AppDirect will power Wacom’s new marketplace, which will offer a variety of apps to help customers find the creativity and digital stationery tools they need, all available through single sign-on.
The partnership marks one of AppDirect’s first with a consumer hardware manufacturer and will help Wacom create an entire ecosystem of applications that its customers can use to enhance and compliment their designs. Initially, the Wacom Marketplace will include Wacom’s proprietary applications, including Bamboo Spark, which allows users to create notes and sketches on paper and then digitalizes and saves them in the cloud; Bamboo Paper, the company’s digital notetaking app; and Dropzone, its cloud-based clipboard and sharing app. In addition, the Wacom Marketplace will launch with a number of third-party apps in the near future.
“At Wacom we believe in bringing people and technology together through seamless solutions. Our ecosystem is based on the idea of ‘digital ink’ and provides our customers with a variety of fully integrated applications to better express their individual creativity and that keep them fully engaged with our devices,” said Faik Karaoglu, Senior Vice President of Platforms and Applications, Wacom. “By working with AppDirect to create the Wacom Marketplace, we’re able to put the best design and creativity apps, whether developed by Wacom or by third parties, in our customers’ hands. Ultimately, we want to make sure our customers have access to the tools that help them be more creative, collaborative and successful, and AppDirect’s technology will allow us to do just that.”
“Since our founding, AppDirect has been focused on helping businesses find, buy, and manage the cloud services they need to thrive,” said Daniel Saks, President and Co-CEO, AppDirect. “With our new partnership with Wacom, we are expanding to new verticals and helping designers and creatives gain access to a curated selection of cloud apps that will help them create, edit, and share their designs.”
Wacom is the world’s leading manufacturer of interactive pen tablets, displays and digital styluses. It is the latest company to join AppDirect’s growing network of trusted global partners and underscores AppDirect’s rapid expansion across regions and industries. AppDirect now counts customers in more than 25 countries and has built a global team of nearly 400 around the globe based in San Francisco, Sydney, Munich, Montreal, Ottawa, Boulder, London, Paris, Stockholm, Singapore, and Tokyo to help businesses monetize and manage the cloud services they need.
The AppDirect-powered Wacom Marketplace will be previewed at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nev., today.
