Arbor Health Plan Achieves NCQA Accreditation

OMAHA, Neb.--()--Arbor Health Plan, a Medicaid managed care health plan serving 83 rural Nebraska counties and part of the AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies, announced that it has become accredited by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). Arbor has been delivering integrated and coordinated care to local residents most in need since July 2012. The NCQA accreditation is valid through September 8, 2018.

Through a network of more than 9,000 primary care providers, specialists and hospitals, along with a community outreach team with a presence in every part of its service area, Arbor is helping to build healthy communities across Nebraska.

NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. NCQA accredits and certifies a wide range of health care organizations. It also recognizes clinicians and practices in key areas of performance. NCQA is committed to providing health care quality information for consumers, purchasers, health care providers and researchers.

NCQA Health Plan Accreditation is a nationally recognized evaluation that purchasers, regulators and consumers can use to assess health plans. NCQA Accreditation not only involves a rigorous review of a health plan’s consumer protection and quality improvement systems, but also requires health plans to submit audited data on key clinical and service measures (e.g., mammography screening rates; advising smokers to quit; consumer satisfaction) in order to achieve the highest levels of accreditation.

Achieving NCQA accreditation is an important milestone. It is a testament to our track record of helping the people of rural Nebraska get healthy and stay well,” said Jerry Feilmeier, acting market president of Arbor Health Plan. “NCQA’s accreditation standards are as rigorous as they come. I am proud of the hard work all of our associates have put in to help us obtain this accreditation.”
